Who is the Black Madonna?

10-week In-Person Class

Held at Marilyn’s home adjacent to The Whidbey Institute in Clinton, Whidbey Island, WA

Wednesday Evenings

7:00pm- 9:00pm PDT

Sept. 18th - Nov. 20th, 2024

Sliding Scale $150 - $225

We will read and discuss together the following books:

The Black Madonna by Fred Gustafson and Waking Up to the Dark: The Black Madonna’s Gospel For An Age Of Extinction, by Clark Strand.

We will use chant, the sharing of our personal stories, and participation in small rituals to personalize the content and to build community together.

To stimulate our discussions, Marilyn will also draw on content from other resources that contribute to a necessary multi-faceted understanding of who the Black Madonna is: Mysteries of the Dark Moon, by Demetra George, The Cult of the Black Virgin by Ean Begg, Conscious Femininity by Marion Woodman, and God Is a Black Woman, by Christena Cleveland, PH.D.

To Register, email Marilyn Strong at lapis@whidbey.com and mail a check made out to Pomegranate Seed Productions, P.O. Box 522, Clinton, WA 98236-0522

Registration will be limited to 8 participants

*Please note that this class has been designed to prepare participants for the Pilgrimage to Northern France in May of 2025, but you do not have to sign up for the pilgrimage to participate in this class.
